Making Financial Literacy Fun: Meet Alli Kennedy and Sharenanigans
In an exciting development for Christchurch's entrepreneurial ecosystem, Alli Kennedy has been awarded $10,000 from the Christchurch Foundation's Womens Entrepreneur Fund. The fund, established by Joy Shivas to address the stark reality that only one in five New Zealand startups are led by women, is helping break down barriers for female founders like Alli.

Alli's innovative board game Sharenanigans is transforming financial literacy education. Born from personal experience and a lack of financial education, she recognised the crucial need for better financial education. Rather than creating another app, Alli chose the timeless medium of board games to teach investment concepts in an engaging, family-friendly format.
After two years of meticulous development, Sharenanigans has already secured $50,000 in pre-sales and sponsorships. The grant will help Alli scale her company, Flip the Table Games, while developing new products to promote financial literacy globally - exactly the kind of innovation Joy aimed to support when establishing this fund to empower more wāhine in business.
Congratulations, Alli!
