2022 Kate Sheppard Women's Fund Award Winners

The Christchurch Foundation is proud to present the 2022 winners of the Kate Sheppard Women’s Fund.

Andrea Solzer

Andrea Solzer started Baby Basics, fulfilling a passion to offer at-home breastfeeding and infant feeding support to families in Christchurch. Andrea is a paediatric nurse, a breastfeeding support counsellor and a mother of three. She offers parents one-on-one coaching and workshops to make parenting easier and more joyful for parents and their babies. With this grant, she can now make her support available to mothers who are struggling with feeding but can’t afford her services.

Michele Moore

Michele started Christchurch Paeony to provide a natural pathway to social inclusion, especially for older Chinese women in Christchurch.

Nadia Edmond

One of our key areas of support is to help foster Canterbury’s future leaders. As a third-year engineering student Nadia has shown courage and determination in supporting her peers through gender discrimination and struggles with mental health. She is also on the executive of Women in Engineering Society, an ambassador for the Forward Foundation, and has been asked to facilitate the Australian Leadership Forum.
